Ronald Sambrano shares his incredible story of surviving the Lahaina fire.

On August 8, 2023, a series of deadly wildfires broke out on the island of Maui. The wind-driven fires caused widespread damage, killing at least 115 people and leaving 388 others missing in the town of Lāhainā. The fires were concurrent with the arrival of Hurricane Dora, which brought high winds that fanned the flames.

Ronald Sambrano and his family were forced to evacuate their home as the fire approached. They watched in horror as their home and entire town burned to the ground. It was a long and sleepless night for Ronald, who shared his story of surviving the fire.

The wildfires on Maui were a tragedy that caused immense loss and devastation. The people of Maui are still recovering from the disaster, and the full impact of the fires is still being felt.

Tragedy can bring out the best and the worst in humanity. On the one hand, there are people trying to take advantage of victims, such as those who are making unsolicited purchase offers or companies charging for unreturned modems.

On the other hand, despite their own losses, the survivors are showing incredible resilience and compassion by helping their neighbors.

‌Despite all the horror, Ronald remains positive and grateful to be alive. He shares an inspiring story of community and hope amidst tragedy.‌

I encourage everyone to donate to one of the community funds to help the victims of the wildfires in Lahaina. Most of the victims have lost everything they own and will need help to rebuild their lives. Your donation can make a difference.
