Today I talk with indie filmmaker Han Allred.  Han is making a documentary about his father comic book creator Michael Allred, who is best known for his comic Madman.

The documentary is about the life of Michael Allred and his comics, however, it is mostly about the out of body episodes Michael experiences that are triggered by existential questions.  Yes, you heard that right.

The questions that trigger him into becoming a literal Madman are also being asked to the other interviewees in the documentary: Kevin Smith, Brian Michael Bendis, KellySue DeConnick, Matt Fraction and so many more! Han discusses the inspiration behind the making of the film and what he has learned during the filmmaking process.

Han’s Kickstarter campaign is live, so check it out if you are interested in learning more about the film.
