In this episode, I speak with the team behind the Image Comics’ adventure series COMPASS comic!

As most of you know I am fortunate to be pals with the one and only Greg Rucka. Greg collaborated with writers ROBERT MACKENZIE and DAVE WALKER (LAZARUS SOURCEBOOK) and artist JUSTIN GREENWOOD (Stumptown, THE FUSE, THE LAST SIEGE) to bring you this action-packed adventure.

Spanning across 3 time zones, I had a fun time speaking with Greg, Robert, and Dave about the origin of the story as well as how it came to fruition.

We discuss treasure hunting in Australia, historical research, and their experience collaborating with Greg Rucka.

I enjoyed this fun Indian Jones-Esque adventure story with a kick-ass heroine named Shahida El-Amin and think you will too. The trade paperback of the 5-issue series of Compass is now available from your local comic bookstore or digitally. Let me know what you think!

I’m loving these conversations and hope you are too. If you are, please rate my podcast on your platform of choice and share it with others! Discussed in this episode:
About Robert

Robert Mackenzie along with writing partner Dave Walker has worked as a tabletop roleplaying game designer for Green Ronin and comic-book critic with Nerdspan. He co-wrote three issues of THE LAZARUS SOURCEBOOK for Image Comics, and together with Dave Walker and Justin Greenwood, is the co-creator of COMPASS. He lives in Melbourne, Australia, with his wife and children and, for his sins, is an attorney when he is not doing this.

About Dave

Dave Walker is not a ghost that walks or a Texas ranger. He is also not that other David Walker who writes comics. He has written all the same things as Robert Mackenzie, as befits writing partners. Together with Robert and Justin Greenwood, he is the co-creator of Image’s COMPASS. He works a nondescript desk job. Having moved south his entire life, he lives in Sydney, Australia, and is looking at Antarctic properties. He spends more time than he should on the bird site, arguing about comics as @professor_just.
