AAPI Heritage month wrap-up episode plus an especially passionate rant! I discuss my frustration with Amazon Prime Video for restricting my film during AAPI Heritage Month and the omission of Asian American History from education in schools.

We are in the final weeks of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. I’m excited that next week’s episode will feature my live event happening tonight! A panel of amazing women who are AAPI community leaders will be discussing food, traditions, and sharing aspects of various Asian Cultures. I hope to make this a recurring program so that we can continue to learn more about different Asian countries and their customs.

As you know I have been working diligently through my activism to Stop AAPI Hate and speak out against the violence, racism, xenophobia, and hate that has been plaguing our society and risen since the start of the pandemic.

I am blessed to have insightful conversations on my show with some wonderful Asian Americans – they have openly shared their stories and lives with me. Please check out all the various guests on my website – sifumimichan.com – you can just type in AAPI in the search to see the list. One of the important conversations very early in my podcast career was with Dick Sakurai – who shared his experience being interred in a Japanese Internment camp. His story brought tears to my eyes but his words, kindness, compassion, and wisdom brought me inspiration.
